Wendy Basey

Wendy throughout her decades-spanning career has immersed herself in various facets of business. She successfully established and managed multiple companies, including ventures in international financing and manufacturing. As one of the only American women to do so, Wendy ventured into China’s enigmatic landscape in 1992, navigating behind the Communist Red Curtain and achieving remarkable business success. Over the course of eighteen years, she cultivated invaluable relationships with government ministries, numerous manufacturers, and corporate entities where Westerners were just finding their feet in both Hong Kong and mainland China.

In early 2000 she returned to the States and acquired a struggling manufacturing operation specializing in Early Childhood Educational products. She incorporated Claytronics’ Inc., raised $500,000 through an IPO and with strategic China contacts and vision, she revitalized the company into a thriving enterprise with an annual sales growth ranging from 15% to 25%.

Leveraging her inspirational business expertise, she has become a national speaker, focusing particularly on female entrepreneurship and her personal mantra of achieving the seemingly improbable or impossible.

Trai Cartwright, MFA

Trai is a private story consultant and editor with 30-years of experience in the entertainment industry. While in Los Angeles, she was a screenwriter, independent film producer, story consultant and development executive for HBO, Paramount Pictures, Universal Studios, New Lines Cinema, and 20th Century Fox. Trai returned to the academic world several years ago, teaching fiction and screenwriting.
